Rae Anne Locke, one of ten winners of the 2012 Carnegie Corporation of New York/New York Times I Love My Librarian Award, speaks about what it means to win the award.
Locke is a school librarian at Saugatuck Elementary "Secret Garden" Library in Westport, Connecticut.
According to her nominators, Rae Anne Locke has poured her heart and soul into planning, creating and growing the "Secret Garden Library," a vibrant, warm and inviting place that is ...a learning hub for the entire school community and nurtures each student individually.
